$21-Million Ford Motor Assembly Factory Rises in Pursat

Pursat: A new Ford assembly factory is being built in Pursat province. The $21-million investment project has been approved by the Pursat provincial governor and representatives from the Cambodian Investment Board, RMA Automative Company and the Council for the Development Cambodia.

The assembly factory occupies an area of over 4 hectares in Savoan village in the Sna Ansa commune of Krakor District, 159 kilometres from Phnom Penh. The auto plant will assemble mainly Ford Ranger and Ford Everest vehicles. The firm is aiming at assembling a total of 4,500 vehicles in the first year to supply the Cambodian market. This project will create about 500 jobs for locals on the production line.
